Mythology
(Benjamin Schmid)
Like the sun on the screen
Won´t keep you warm
Like the life in your mind
Won´t move anything
You won´t heal anyone
With mere good will
Like most colleagues searching
for something to fulfill
The good myths never have a purpose
But the meanest always reach their goal
Every spoken word a window
But you´ll never see the entire soul
This uneasiness that keeps me
Thinking and worrying a lot
Like that dream of such significance
That I recently forgot
There´s a hole in the wall
Where the picture used to be
But is the drama behind
Just show or pure reality?
Like ventriloquists singing and shouting
A sincere hymn for their lord god
And an epitaph ever so moving
For anyone that didn´t mean a lot
Like the world behind our eyes
Like a framework made of lies
When you keep on thinking on and on
Even the greatest façade will be breaking down
